Pilot sinks the ship of Congress.
In the recently concluded elections of Panchayat Raj, Ajmer Congress
failed badly. Out of 32 members of Zila parishad, Congress could only
get eleven seats. Resultantly, the BJP could easily capture the Zila
Parishad. Similarly, Congress lost in three Panchayat samitis out of
eight. Most of the elected Sarpanchas belong to the ideology of
Congress. The position of Congress has been very weak in the Panchayat
Raj elections. This condition emerged in a situation when Sachin Pilot
is Member of Parliament from Ajmer. Pilot is state minister in the
Central government and holds friendly relations with general secretary
Rahul Gandhi and hence he has far more influence in politics of
Congress. It is only for this influence that Pilot had his major
discretion in distribution of the tickets. Pilot did nothing which
could fetch votes for Congress. If we go by the opinion of the
Congress people in Ajmer this defeat was due to wrong distribution of
tickets. This defeat came in a background when Congress had a major
share in parliamentary and legislative elections. Pilot also won as
MP. Out of eight assembly seats Congress has five MLAs. It is agreed
that leaders of Congress hold continuous tug of war but the way Pilot
planned his strategies it could not win success. Pilot could manage
tickets for his favourite people but he could not play an active role.
Perhaps Pilot assumed that the voters of Ajmer would vote for the
Congress without much persuasion.  This assumption of Pilot resulted
in defeat of 21 members of zila parishad out of 32. The role of a
member parliament is very important in panchayat raj elections. Had
the Congress won, Pilot would have definitely taken the credit of the
victory of the Congress. Now in case of defeat, he should take the
responsibility of defeat of Congress and should tell the high command
as to why Congress lost in Ajmer. So far as the working style of Shri
Pilot is concerned, he has failed to influence the voters. After his
becoming a minister at the Centre the people of Ajmer expected speedy
development but instead, the decisions taken already are being
altered. The Central University which was to come to Chachiyawas is
going 45km away from Ajmer. Pilot may or may not agree but the main
cause of defeat in the panchayat elections is that the Central
University is going beyond Kishangarh and far away from Ajmer. The
decision that Central University will be established at Chachiyawas
(Ajmer) was taken in the BJP Raj but it has been snatched away from
Ajmer in Congress Raj. Sachin Pilot should learn a lesson from the
panchayat raj elections because such a situation will have far
reaching repercussions.  After six months, elections of Municipal
Corporation Ajmer are due but both the MLA seats of Ajmer are under
the control of BJP. The question is that when Congress could not do
well in Panchayat elections then how it could expect better results in
adverse situation of Ajmer Municipal Corporation
Question is whether Sachin is serious about his own elections. He
could not get the Congress to victory even after his success as MP and
after his getting a seat in the Central government. Sachin has not
tasted defeat. After getting majority he won from Dausa and this time
he shifted to Ajmer by using his political influence and won also. But
in view of the scenario it is doubtful whether he can win election
from Ajmer again.
Zila Parishads have a very important role in rural areas. The
execution of Central schemes also takes place through the zila
parishads. May be the Zila Parishad under the leadership of BJP may
not be able to establish a link with the state government and the
development of the area could get thwarted. CM Gehlot and PCC chief
Joshi spoke of one chain at all levels but the chain of Ajmer has been
broken due to lack of adequate efforts of Shri Pilot.

The magic of Pilot failed
After the defeat of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samities the
Congressmen of Ajmer have started whispering that Mr. Pilot is losing
his magic in Ajmer. His craze is getting eroded. From the results it
is evident that the graph of Congress is going down. Sachin Pilot
assured the people to share the woes of the people but instead he is
visiting Ajmer only for inaugurations. The Congress workers seem to be
